Encapto - What to do if your Mikrotik is failing RADIUS authentication to PEP/Encapto

Edited

Introduction

It's important when setting up a Mikrotik router to ensure that the firmware on the router is the version recommended by Encapto, however if you accidentally set the router up on a different firmware, this can result in the RADIUS server not populating correctly. This guide is intended to help resolve this issue.

Requirements

It's recommended to have a copy of the Encapto Mikrotik setup guide to hand which you can get from the Encapto Partner Portal. This will not only guide you through the standard process, but also advises on the correct version of firmware (6.42.6 at the time of writing but subject to change).

Configuration

First of all, go to Files, and delete the "Path" file.

Once this has been removed, go to  System > Scripts and run the pullConfig script. This should then pull down the configuration again, and if you go into RADIUS, you should see that the server is now populated.

Retest your portal and this should now be working!
