Purpose
The purpose of this guide is to template the most basic cnPilot installation.
Please note that creating additional types of WLANs such as guest will be in a seperate post.
Pre-Requisites:
- The user must already have created a cnMaestro account.
Onboard a device
Step 1:
From the cnMaestro homepage select the Onboard Devices tile.
Step 2:
Click the claim device button at the top.
Step 3:
Enter the serial number(s) into the text field and click claim devices.
Step 4:
Browse to WLANs and AP groups under configuration.
Step 5:
Click create new WLAN.
- Under basic information, change the type to the relevent AP you wish to configure.
- type in a name. (this will also auto-populate the SSID field.
- change the SSID if you wish.
- change the security type to WPA2 PSK
- configure which radios you wish to have active
- check the box cnMaestro managed roaming.
- click save
Step 5:
Browse to configuration/WLANs and AP groups. click the AP group tab at the top. click new AP group.
- Under basic information, change the type to the relevent AP you wish to configure.
- Change the Name.
- tick auto sync if not already checked.
- change the country to the relevent region.
- set location, contact and description if you wish.
- change the placement to indoor/outdoor which ever is relevent.
- select the Add WLAN hyperlink and select the WLANs you wish to add.
- click add
- click save.
Step 6:
- Click home and select the onboard devices tile.
- click the pencil under the configure column.
- Select the AP group from the dropdown box you would like the AP to go into.
- click save
- under the actions column click approve
The basic configuration is now complete and the AP is operantional
