1. Set Up Wizard
When you first connect to the UCM you are guided through a setup wizard for basic configuration. The UCM is initially set up via DHCP so you will need to find out the IP address it has initially been given.
2. Network Setup
In here is where you set the static IP address. Please be aware it is recommended that the device is given a static IP address as products that are connected to this device will also require a static IP address.
3. License number
The type of license determines the functionality. When you initially purchase the Dect system, we will need to know what you are trying to achieve in order to provide you with the correct licences.
4. DECT Phone System
From the drop down list, you select the DECT phone system you wish to set up with the UCM. Please be aware if you are only using VoWiFi handsets you will select None.
5. DECT System Addressing
Here is where you enter the IP Address of the DECT AP/AP’s. Please be aware you can come back and amend this later if the DECT AP/AP’s haven’t been set up yet. Also, as before if you are only using VoWiFi please leave this section as 0.0.0.0
If you are setting two of the base stations up as mirror masters for redundancy purposes, then I would recommend setting the "multiple IP-DECT masters" as No and entering the Primary master IP address and Secondary master IP address into the boxes provided. Therefore if the UCM cannot connect to the Primary master it will look for the secondary master for information.
6. Serial Interface (inbound)
The settings on this page can be changed depending if you are using external systems such as paging.
If not required you can leave the settings as they are and select next. Please be aware these settings can always be changed later.
7. Connected Carrier Systems
This is where you can set up which systems are able to send and receive messages and alarms. For example, if you are using both DECT and VoWiFi you will need to select both DECT and WLAN messaging interface, however if you are just using VoWiFi you will only be required to select WLAN Messaging.
8. Mail Server
Here you can input the IP address of your mail server, this is so you are able to send fault information and export activity logs via email.
If not required you can leave blank and select next.
9. Date and Time/Set Time
Both of these windows are so you can configure the date and time of the UCM. You can either set the time manually or via a time server.
10. Central Phonebook Properties
Here you can set up the database you wish to use for your phonebook.
11. Change Passwords
On this page to can change the password from generic to site specific.
12. Save Settings
Once you click finish another page will load which will ask you if you would like to restart now or later. We recommend restarting now because if you select restart later, you will have to go through the set-up wizard again later.
The UCM will then go offline and perform a reboot. This can take a few minutes to pull the configuration.
Once the UCM has rebooted you can then reconnect via the IP address you have given the device. You we will be required to enter the username and password which will be, username - admin and password - changeme unless these have been changed. You will be then taken to the below page:
Please be aware your UCM main page may look different to the one above depending on the licences you have purchased.
