Cambium cnPilot - Retrieve Tech Support & Device Configuration File : Local GUI

 Purpose: 

The purpose of this guide is to retrieve Technical Support File and Configuration File for the Cambium cnPilot.

Step 1: Power on Radio – Check LED Status

LED status

The e410/e430/e600 AP has a single color LED. The power LED will glow Amber as the AP boots up and turn Green once it has booted up successfully.

Step 2: Open Command Prompt – If the IP address is known, change your Laptop/PC NIC to the same subnet as the unit. Ping the unit to check IP connectivity. If successful, proceed to step 4.

Step 3: If the IP address is unknown – We can access the Unit using the Zeroconf IP.

Leave your Laptop/PC NIC IP address to retrieve the IP Address Automatically (DHCP)

Device access using zeroconf IP

To access the device using zeroconf IP, follow the below steps:

a) Convert the last two bytes of ESN of the device to decimal. If ESN is 58:C1:CC:DD:AA:BB, last two bytes of this ESN is AA:BB. Decimal equivalent of AA:BB is 170:187.

b) Use a Hex to IP converter - https://www.browserling.com/tools/hex-to-ip

c) Zeroconf IP of device with ESN 58:C1:CC:DD:AA:BB is 169.254.170.187

d) Ping the unit to check IP connectivity. If successful, proceed to step 4.

Step 4:  Navigate to the radio Web GUI page – https:// <Radio IP Address> - e.g https://169.254.170.187

Step 5: Enter the Username & Password – Default admin/admin

Step 6: Navigate to Operations

  1. For the Tech Support File > Under System > Select Download Tech Support tab

  2. For the Configuration File > Under Configuration > Click the Export tab
