WatchGuard - Resetting a FireBox

On occasion, a Firebox will need to be factory reset such as when building the cluster.

Resetting a Firebox where the username and password is not known 

1. Power off the Firebox.

2. Press and hold the Reset button on the front left of the device, and briefly press the Power button on the front of the device to power it on.

3. Continue to hold the Reset button until the Shield indicator flashes green rapidly.

4. After the Shield indicator starts to flash green twice per second, release the Reset button.

5. Wait until the Shield indicator starts to flash red.

6. Press and hold the Power button for five seconds to power off the device.

7. Briefly press the Power button on the front of the device to power it on.

8. The Firebox restarts with factory-default settings.

Resetting a Firebox where the username and password is known

1. Connect to the CLI by SSH or console 

2. Type the command "restore factory-default all"
